How to reply to a LinkedIn post that asks for a vendor

By the DialClient team · Updated

Short answer

Reply within a few hours, on the channel the buyer asked for (email, DM or comment). Keep it to three parts: one line that repeats their need, one proof point (a similar client or project), and one clear next step such as a quote or a 10-minute call. Follow up on day 2, day 5 and day 10, then stop.

Step by step

  1. Use their channel. If the post gives an email, send an email. If it says “DM me”, send a DM. A short comment like “Sent you an email” helps them notice you.
  2. Repeat their need. “You need 300 Diwali hampers in Pune by 20 October.” It shows you read the post.
  3. Add one proof point. A similar client, a photo or a link to one relevant project.
  4. Give one next step. A quote by today, samples, or a 10-minute call.
  5. Follow up. Day 2, day 5 and day 10, each time adding something useful. Stop after that.
